Terms Definition
Activity A shared interactive experience on Discord, such as watching videos or playing games together within a voice or video channel.
Avatar An avatar on Discord is a small graphical image that serves as a user's profile picture.
Channel Channels are organized into text and voice channels, which are usually dedicated to specific topics and can have different rules.
Text channels: Specialized for posting messages, upload files, and share images for others to see at any time.
Voice channels: Specialized for voice or video call in real time, and sharing screen with friends - also known as Go Live.
Discord Discord is a voice or text communication platform specializes in text, image, video, and audio communication.
Direct Message (DM) Direct message is sent directly from the sender to the recipient, not connected to any channel or server.
Emoji Emojis are tiny pictures you can drop into your messages.
Emoji Picker "A tool that allows users to select emojis for use in messages, typically found in the bottom right corner in the message input area.
Nitro Discord’s premium subscription service with features such as unlimited use of custom emojis, access to a library of games, and higher quality video streams.
Role A set of permissions or settings that can be applied to server members, often used to manage access or moderation capabilities.
Server Server is a chatroom with channels inside. You can create a server by tapping the + button on the left bar.
Server Template Pre-defined settings and structures provided by Discord to simplify the creation of new servers, tailored for specific purposes like gaming, study groups, or clubs.
Sticker Stickers are pictures that can be used in a text channel or voice channel. They appear similarly to emojis but are larger and cannot be interacted with.
Sticker Picker A tool that allows users to select stickers for use in messages, typically found in the bottom right corner in the message input area.
